The law...
As of July 1, 2000 in order to work in Oregon, new contractors MUST:

1. Complete a 16 hour education course by a State-approved provider, such as ours;
2. Take and pass an official, 80 question, State of Oregon Contractors’ Board test;
3. Register your business with the Oregon Corporation Division;
4. Obtain a bond and general liability insurance;
5. Fill out a CCB license application and pay a licensing fee; and
6. Get your business ID number from the Oregon Dept. of Revenue.
